Hive Members, unlock new product possibilities with the "Pocket Tome" NFC Keychain! This miniature book keychain isn't just a unique accessory; it cleverly holds a 25mm NFC tag inside, turning a simple keychain into a functional tech gadget for your customers.
This project is the first in an exciting collaboration series between Collecticraft and xTool, demonstrating how 3D printing can be enhanced by the precision of the xTool F1 laser engraver. We've included 4 optimized .3mf print profiles and 7 pre-made .xcs laser engraving files featuring popular book titles to get you started quickly!
Printable With or Without Laser – Offer Both!
While the cover is perfect for showcasing detailed laser engravings (using tools like the xTool F1), a laser is NOT required to produce this item. The keychain prints perfectly well on standard 3D printers. You can offer your customers plain versions in various filament colors, or add value with custom engravings if you have laser capabilities.

Required Materials:
Filament (PLA/PETG suggested)

Keychain Ring
Glue (Superglue or epoxy suggested for secure assembly)

Testing Required: Laser results vary significantly based on filament and settings. Always test on scrap material first, especially important if selling engraved items. Adjust power/speed in the .xcs files as needed for your specific filament.
Assembly:
Print the two halves using a provided .3mf profile.
Place the 25mm NFC tag in the internal slot.
Apply a small amount of glue to the inner joining surfaces.
Carefully align and press the halves together firmly until the glue sets.
Attach a keychain ring.
(Inform customers they can program the NFC tag using a smartphone app).
